❄️ Let Pigment Paint the Landscape — Painting a Cold Winter Evening in Watercolor Join me for a full watercolor Paint Along as I paint a cold prairie evening filled with turbulent skies, distant light, and the first feeling of winter settling over the landscape. In this painting I wanted the sky to carry much of the emotion — cool blues, violets and greys weighing against the last warm glow along the horizon. A distant grain elevator and passing train are kept small and quiet, while loose brushwork and flowing pigment build the rough prairie foreground. This is as much about enjoying watercolor as controlling it. Put on some music, grab your paints, and paint along with me — or simply relax and watch the water and pigment find their way across the paper. 🎨 🖌️ Materials Used Paper: Saunders Waterford, 12 × 16 in., 100% cotton watercolor paper Paints: Professional watercolors, featuring Holbein colours Brushes: Da Vinci and assorted watercolor brushes Techniques: Wet-on-wet washes, dry brush, lifting and expressive brushwork 🎨 Original Art — Painted by Hand This painting was created entirely by hand using traditional watercolor materials. No AI-generated imagery was used in creating this artwork. 🛍️ Original Paintings & Prints Etsy: WaterColorbyColinF 📸 Follow My Watercolor Work Instagram: @WatercolorbyColinF Pinterest: WaterColorbyColinF If you enjoy watching watercolor come together, please like, comment and subscribe.
