EVERYONE FAILED JOEY LYNCH | Redeeming 6 Deep Dive Parts 6 & 7

We have officially reached one of the most devastating sections of Redeeming 6. Olivia & Grace are back for our Redeeming 6 Deep Dive, covering Parts 6 & 7 — Chapters 72–86 — and this is where Joey Lynch finally falls off the ledge he’s been desperately clinging to. In the aftermath of Teddy’s attack, Joey is physically broken, emotionally destroyed, and spiraling deeper into addiction. And somehow, while he is lying in a hospital bed after nearly being beaten to death, almost everyone around him STILL manages to make his pain about somebody else. So yeah… we have some fucking thoughts. We’re breaking down Darren’s return after five and a half years, Marie Lynch’s manipulation, Aoife refusing to give up on Joey, Joey disappearing for eight days, his relapse, the pregnancy, Gibsie being an absolute KING, Tadhg reminding us exactly who Joey has always been to those kids, Edel Kavanagh showing Joey the maternal care he has never received, and the heartbreaking difference between how Joey sees himself and how the people who truly love him see him. Because that’s the tragedy of Joey Lynch at this point in the story: Everyone who truly loves him can still see that he’s in there. Joey is the only one who can’t. ⚠️ CONTENT WARNING: The Boys of Tommen series deals with extremely heavy themes, and because this is a detailed deep dive, we openly discuss domestic abuse, addiction, trauma, child abuse, pregnancy, suicidal thoughts and other potentially triggering topics. Please take care of yourself while listening. 📖 COVERED IN THIS DEEP DIVE: • Chapters 72–86 / Parts 6 & 7 • The aftermath of Teddy’s attack • The truth about how long Joey’s abuse has been happening • Darren Lynch’s return • Marie’s manipulation of Darren • Why Olivia will defend Darren leaving — but NOT the way he returned • Aoife vs. Marie & Darren • Joey’s relapse and eight-day disappearance • The hospital appointment • Johnny & Joey • Gibsie once again proving why he’s one of the best characters in this series • Tadhg and the devastating truth about who really raised the Lynch children • Edel Kavanagh giving Joey something he’s never had • Joey’s relationship with motherhood and maternal care • Why Aoife can still see Joey when he can’t see himself • The psychology behind Joey Lynch hitting rock bottom 📚 *Books discussed:* Redeeming 6 by Chloe Walsh Saving 6 by Chloe Walsh Binding 13 by Chloe Walsh Keeping 13 by Chloe Walsh Taming 7 by Chloe Walsh Releasing 10 by Chloe Walsh Timestamps: 00:00 - Intro 03:35 - Content Warning 04:35 - Chapter 72 08:47 - Chapter 73 19:18 - Chapter 74 24:53 - Chapter 75 30:55 - Part 7 31:00 - Chapter 76 43:16 - Chapter 77 44:45 - Chapter 78 47:14 - Chapter 79 50:40 - Chapter 80 56:47 - Chapter 81 1:10:44 - Chapter 82 1:18:00 - Chapter 83 1:26:19 - Chapter 84 1:38:17 - Chapter 85 1:48:28 - Chapter 86 1:55:55 - Chapter 87 2:03:21 - Final Thoughts and Outro 💬 COVEN QUESTION: Who failed Joey the MOST in this section — and which character surprised you most with how they showed up for him?
