Does a packed yoga class mean someone is a better teacher? And does a half-empty classroom mean you're not very good at what you do?
Not necessarily.
Some of the best yoga teachers I've ever studied with are people you've probably never heard of. And some of the most popular teachers I've studied with have been exceptional.
Because popularity and teaching proficiency are two different things.
As yoga teachers, we can get so caught up in attendance numbers, sold-out workshops, and social media followers that we start using those numbers to evaluate our teaching ability.
But an attendance number isn't an evaluation of teaching proficiency.
In this video, we're exploring why popularity isn't a reliable measure of teaching skill, what actually makes someone an effective yoga teacher, and how to evaluate your own teaching without confusing visibility with competency.
We'll also look at a common mistake: trying to solve a visibility problem with another certification—or assuming a full classroom means there's nothing left to improve.
Your teaching deserves a better evaluation than a headcount.
