My first visit to Waldameer & Water World in Erie, Pennsylvania completely exceeded my expectations! This small, charming amusement park sitting along Lake Erie might not look like the kind of place that would be home to one of the best wooden roller coasters in the country... but Ravine Flyer II is legitimately ELITE.
In this vlog, I explore Waldameer for the first time, check out everything this historic amusement park has to offer, and finally experience Ravine Flyer II, the park's incredible Gravity Group wooden coaster. With its terrain-hugging layout, airtime, aggressive pacing, and iconic trip over the highway toward Lake Erie, this coaster absolutely lived up to the hype.
But Ravine Flyer II wasn't the only thing that impressed me. Waldameer has a ton of old-school amusement park charm and reminded me quite a bit of places like Knoebels. It's the kind of smaller independent park that makes you wonder why more people aren't talking about it.
Is Ravine Flyer II one of America's best wooden roller coasters? And is Waldameer one of the most underrated amusement parks in the country? Let's find out!
