Goodbye, Mr. Chips by James Hilton | Old Time Radio (1949)

This old time radio drama is adapted from Goodbye, Mr. Chips, a novella by the British-American writer, James Hilton, about the long, eventful life of Mr. Chipping,a classics master at Brookfield School. It is an encompassing story of love, loss, and generations of students. The episode opens in 1933, introducing Mr. Chipping, known to everyone as Mr. Chips, a retired schoolmaster at Brookfield School. He maintains his tradition of hosting new boys for tea, sharing stories of former students. His friend, Dr. Merrivale, visits regularly, noting Chips's remarkably good health for his age.
