I’ve seen the likes of Springsteen, The Who, Bob Dylan, & the Grateful Dead perform live. But I have never felt an artistic presence quite like Angelina Jordan. A lot of casual fans know her from her viral jazz clips or her historic run on AGT. But there is another side to her that is less well known: her deep dedication to spreading kindness and love. Today, I’m reacting to a superb documentary by some fellow superfan creators: "The Go Barefoot for Princess Challenge Part 1." This video moved me to tears. It shows how a 6-year-old Angelina giving her shoes to an orphan child named Princess sparked a global chain reaction of healing. From hair donations to school scholarships, her music is actively changing lives. Now twenty, her musical genius and her humanitarian soul come from the exact same place. The same empathy that allows her to paralyze a room with a whispered, "less is more" vocal performance is the same heart that cares for human suffering. Watch until the end to see my thoughts.
