Procedural Colorful Flakes Car Paint Shader Masterclass in V-Ray 6 👉 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝟏𝟎% 𝐨𝐧 𝐕-𝐑𝐚𝐲: https://bit.ly/Get-VRay 👉 𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 + 𝐁𝗼𝐧𝘂𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭:   / jonasnoell   In this tutorial, you will learn how to build a photorealistic car paint material featuring procedural colorful metallic flakes in V-Ray 6 for 3ds Max. We explore an updated lookdev workflow for multi-coat automotive paint, moving from a clean base coat and clear coat setup to adding subtle uncolored metallic flakes, and finally layering dynamic chromatic/iridescent flake reflections. To create the rainbow sparkle effect seen in metallic and pearlescent automotive finishes, we split the flake reflection into separate RGB spectrum channels and apply subtle reflection shifts before combining them back together. Because the entire material tree uses procedural maps and parameter controllers, the setup remains fully parametric, allowing you to tweak flake density, scale, intensity, and color shift across your entire scene simultaneously.
