BBC Radio 1 - Top 20 (17-Sep-1978) (*almost FULL SHOW!)

*** You can now hear un-cut versions of my Chart Show recordings in full on my MixCloud channel: https://www.mixcloud.com/RetroRadioUK/ *YouTube's automatic music copyright sensor means I've had to edit out the following tracks in order to upload the rest of the show: No 20: Bob Dylan - Baby Stop Crying No 15: Herbie Hancock - I Thought It Was You No 10: Exile - Kiss You All Over When I brought my cassettes down from the attic and started digitising them, I was surprised to find a gap in my Chart Show collection from 1978. This is actually the last of my recordings from the programme's Top 20 era. For some reason I have no recordings at all from October, ahead of the show's extension in November to the Top 40 with a 5.00pm start on Sunday evenings. Fear not - I have two stereo Top 40 shows from the back end of 1978 to share with you! *The Official Charts Company wrongly lists this chart as representing: 10 September 1978 - 16 September 1978: https://www.officialcharts.com/charts... This is because the Official Charts data doesn't take into account that the chart was published every TUESDAY (not on Sundays) during the 1970s. In fact, new charts were not announced on a Sunday until 1987: https://thechartshows.fandom.com/wiki... This programme was captured on a TDK D C-120 on my Akai GXC-40T stereo cassette-receiver.
