John is a hardworking and ambitious young man with one serious problem: he is always late. Every morning, he tells himself, “Just five more minutes,” but those minutes become twenty or thirty. He misses taxis, arrives late to work, and constantly makes excuses. Although his supervisor repeatedly warns him, John fails to change. Eventually, he loses his job and is forced to face the consequences of wasting time. After finding another job, John tries to improve but slowly returns to his old habits. One day, a taxi driver gives him simple advice: leave home forty minutes earlier. The driver tells John that his real problem is not a lack of time, but a lack of respect for the time he has. John finally takes the advice seriously. He begins waking earlier, preparing the night before, and leaving with enough time for unexpected delays. Although he occasionally fails, he learns from his mistakes and becomes consistent. Months later, John becomes one of the company's most dependable employees and eventually earns a promotion. John realises that punctuality is more than arriving on time. It means respecting commitments, other people, opportunities, and his own goals. Time never stops or returns, so wasting it today can cost you tomorrow.
