But the day throws me a surprise—my navigation tablet crashes to the ground after a bad bump. With a cracked screen, I continue to Lake Leggio for a short stop, then ride through Lugano and up the legendary Gotthard Pass. I share some of its rich history and the reason I skip the tunnel entirely. From there, I descend into Andermatt and begin the final climb of the day: the mighty Furka Pass.
