No Excuses - Alice in Chains
Fantastic song, one of my favorites from Alice in Chains, even though it's much softer than most of their other material. Lots of extended sustain glitches on this song. I'm still down over 100 points from first place, so these ext. sustain glitches play a huge part in score. I played the setlist backwards when I went through to record these videos, so these earlier songs I actually get some decent points from extended sustain glitching. The later videos I miss tons of ticks, and don't even go for them on some occasions. I can already tell I'm gonna get a lot of questions about it so I'll attempt to explain it as best I can.
The reason I drop some sustains is because there is a glitch that allows me to get more points. When you have a sustain, with another sustain note within it (known as an extended sustain), if you drop the lower sustain before hitting the higher sustain, you will earn a few extra points than if you would have held all the sustains out the full length. When let you go of the lower sustain and hit the higher one, the game is basically tricked into giving you the points for both the sustains, and more. This only works if there are two or more sustains in an extended sustain, and if you hold out the last sustain the whole way. If you drop the higher sustain early, you will lose any extra points. This method is used in all games from World Tour and beyond, and is not considered cheating. It just makes going for high scores a bit more random and challenging.
