I headed out on my own for a night of wild camping in Scotland, in the Strathcarron area. With winds forecast to reach 60mph, finding somewhere sheltered to pitch the tent was the main priority. After walking into the hills, I eventually found a spot overlooking a loch, away from the worst of the wind. Along the way, I was lucky enough to spot a black grouse before settling in for the evening. Tentbound by the rain I enjoyed some sausages in buns, a beer and a brief look over the loch. The following morning, I cooked up some oat pancakes for breakfast before packing everything away and heading back towards Achilty. In this video: Solo wild camping in Scotland Walking through the Strathcarron hills Spotting a black grouse Finding a sheltered pitch overlooking a loch Camping with strong winds forecast Sausages in buns and a beer for dinner Just a simple night away in the Highlands, enjoying a bit of time outdoors and making the most of a free weekend. If you enjoy solo wild camping, Scottish scenery, camp cooking and outdoor adventures, I hope you enjoy the video. As always, please leave no trace and leave these special places as you found them.
