Released in August 2026 www.anastasiapianist.com Piano Lessons online and in recorded format Ukrainian composer Borys Mykolayovych Lyatoshynsky (1895-1968) trained with Glière at the Kiyv Conservatory and became the most important Ukrainian composer through the mid-20th century. He also taught at the Kiyv Conservatory from age 25 through to his death, with occasional stints at the Moscow Conservatory to teach orchestration. As with many composers writing under Soviet rule, his music was subject to the approval and strictures of the state. Just as Shostakovich and Prokofiev did, he came up against the authorities for his music, with a particular case in his Third Symphony. From 1922 to 1925, he headed the Kyiv organization of the Association of Modern Music, an association of innovative composers who sought to renew the musical language. In the mid-1920s, the composer wrote two piano sonatas (Sonata No. 1 in 1924, and Sonata-Ballad, No.2 in 1925) and a cycle of piano pieces “Reflections” (1925). These works demonstrate his fascination with French impressionism, playing with colorful harmonies, reflections and reflexes of sounds, combined with ultramodern tendencies of the time, extreme polyrhythms and polytonalities. Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, Anastasia Seifetdinova gave her first solo recital at the age of eleven. Ms. Seifetdinova is a graduate of the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg, Germany, and holds Master’s and Doctorate degrees from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford. In 2003 Anastasia received First Prize and a Special Prize in the 14th International Piano Competition for Young Pianists in Rome. In year 2006 Ms. Seifetdinova won the Puigcerda International Piano Competition in Spain. In the same year she recorded the complete works for piano and orchestra by Balakirev with the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra for NAXOS records. In 2016 and 2017 Ms. Seifetdinova released her two piano solo CDs with Centaur Records, and in 2022 the digital album of Ukrainian Piano Music. The most recent album from 2026 includes works by Nyzhankivsky, Revutsky and Lyatoshinsky.
