Cuevas de Nerja

First went there when I was around 10 years old. Second visit on 5th October 2026. Well, forget the colourful promo pictures everywhere - the lighting inside is bland yellow halogen, not that well placed. IN FACT the cave is in my view quite dangerous. The lighting for walkways that include dark areas with steps is totally inadequate - I had to use the torch on my phone to enable my wife to see the steps it is so dark. The hand rails along the walkway are filthy and permanently wet which is understandable in a cave. The exit rout is not for those with hip or knee issues, the stairs are steep and many. Yes - it is a fantastic phenomenon to see but be aware there are issues they could and should resolve.
