@DailyMechanicalGroup Runs into a commercial kitchen nightmare!

This restaurant's walk-in freezer had developed a massive mound of ice on the floor, approximately 1–2 feet high! Upon inspection, we discovered that an uninsulated condensate drain line had frozen causing defrost water to back up into the evaporator drain pan, eventually causing the drain pipe to burst. The expanding ice had even caused the drain pan to deform, allowing water to overflow during defrost cycles and freeze on the floor below. The result? A miniature glacier inside a walk-in freezer. 😂 A little bit of insulation would have gone a long way in preventing this type of scenario This is another example of why proper installation and preventative maintenance are so important. Small problems left unaddressed can quickly become expensive ones!
