With OpenShape 3D on your Mac and the Claude desktop app, you describe the part in one sentence, watch it get modelled in a real CAD app, and find print-ready STL files in your Downloads folder. Setup (two minutes, once) 1. OpenShape 3D › Settings › AI Assistant › switch on "Let AI Assistants Build Here" 2. Click "Add to Claude Desktop…" › Install › paste the pairing code (already copied) › Save › Enabled 3. Start a blank design and ask Claude for what you want Everything Claude builds is a normal, editable CAD model: ask for changes, or keep working on it yourself. Is it safe? The app listens only on your own Mac, only while the switch is on, and only to an app that has your pairing code. OpenShape 3D itself sends nothing to the internet.
