The idea phase is beautiful. You get an idea, imagine the possibilities, and suddenly, everything feels achievable. You can already picture what success might look like. But then comes execution. And sometimes, reality has other plans. In this video, I'm sharing what my first day selling groundnuts and popcorn taught me about the difference between having an idea and actually bringing it to life. There was the scorching sun, being asked to move from one spot to another more times than I could count, and that uncomfortable moment when I started questioning whether the idea was worth pursuing in the first place. It wasn't what I had imagined. And maybe that's the point. We romanticize starting things without always considering what it will take to keep going when things get uncomfortable. We imagine the results, but we don't always prepare ourselves for the process. I'm still figuring things out, and this is part of my journey of building something from the ground up. If you're also trying to bring an idea to life, I hope this reminds you that a difficult beginning doesn't automatically mean you've made the wrong decision. Sometimes, you need to give yourself enough time to learn, adjust, and discover what you're actually building. Let's talk: Have you ever been so excited about an idea, only for the execution to humble you? What happened? Welcome to Joy The Project, where I'm documenting the process of figuring things out, building ideas, and learning along the way.
