Our Wonderful Trip to Manistique, Michigan

My family rented a somewhat remote Lake Michigan beachfront cottage in Manistique, Michigan last week. We’ve been to the U.P. several times and love it so much, but this was our first trip to the Manistique area. It is such a beautiful, peaceful area of the U.P. that I wanted to be sure to capture a few memories for us simply using my iPhone 15 Pro. There is no dialogue; I wanted the natural sounds to speak for themselves. The drive to the cottage was on narrow gravel and dirt roads, but once we arrived there the scenery was spectacular, even on cloudy days. We visited the Manistique East Breakwater Lighthouse one day. On another day I rescued a few Monarch butterflies that were stranded on the beach following a rain that resulted in them getting wet and sand sticking to them, making it impossible for them to fly until I cleaned them up. One stayed in my hand for close to one-half hour before flying high and far away without issue. I also made some designs in the sand to reflect our Ohio college alma maters, BGSU and OSU. We look forward to returning to this area of the U.P.!
