Season 5 Episode 10: Starting Over Ray and Miss Ellie approach Franklin Horner for a $3 million dollar loan. However, Franklin informs Miss Ellie that her cash preserve is low since J.R. has used the cash preserve to pay for the holding tanks for $2 million dollars worth of crude oil. Franklin further states that J.R. backed the loan with $50 million dollars worth of Ewing assets. Miss Ellie is outraged by this news and yet, she insists on plunging the assets to help Ray, who begs her not to do it. Pam returns home again from the Brookside Hospital.
