Objects collecting tour - Streets of Tel Aviv Jaffa - 2021 I first started making instruments as a mission of recreating sounds of the Yemeni street, focusing of using only what's around you. Many Yemenite musicians depend on music to earn their bread and find usefulness in every thrown out thing to make music. The ability to bring to life and create music from what used to be a ‘piece of junk’, to me reflects the ability to be happy with the little and simple things in life. Beyond recycling which is a tremendous advantage, building instruments from thrown out scraps can also create a source of income for those in need, and drive people away from crime and into arts and crafts.
