Dakota Johnson Explains Why She Keeps Falling for Musicians Like MGK

Dakota Johnson covered Vogue's October 2026 issue in a feature tied to her upcoming film Verity and her appearance at Vogue World in Milan. Asked about wanting children, she said she hopes it happens for her and described feeling "a soul that wants to come through." The profile ran twelve days after TMZ published photos, dated September 11, of Johnson and Machine Gun Kelly leaving Taylor Swift's Tribeca apartment building. In that same Vogue conversation, Johnson called musicians "tricky motherfuckers" without naming anyone directly, while people close to her described Colson Baker in less flattering terms. This breakdown lines up her on-record Vogue statements against the public timeline of her relationships with Chris Martin, Role Model's Tucker Pillsbury, and Machine Gun Kelly, and asks what the pattern actually says about what she wants next. 🎬 CHAPTERS 0:00 - Dakota Johnson’s Dating History 0:45 - Dakota Johnson on Her Attraction to Musicians 1:50 - The Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) Connection & Dating Rumors 3:15 - Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin’s Longtime Relationship 5:00 - Looking Back: Matthew Hitt & Noah Gersh Romance 6:40 - Why Dakota Johnson Prefers Rockstars and Artists 8:15 - Celebrity Reactions & Hollywood Insider Commentary 9:30 - Final Thoughts: What’s Next for Dakota Johnson? 10:15 - Discussion 👉 SOURCES 1.
