Colossians 1:18-20 | The Preeminence of Christ in the New Creation

This sermon proclaims Christ’s preeminence in the new creation. Human sin introduced death, alienation, and hostility into the world, creating a desperate need for redemption. As Head of the church and the firstborn from the dead, Christ bridges this redemptive gap. His historical resurrection conquers death, establishing a new people who are united to Him and secured for eternal life. Christ holds this supreme position because the fullness of God dwells in Him. He perfectly reveals the Father and operates through the power of the Holy Spirit. As Mediator, Christ achieved ultimate reconciliation by shedding His blood on the cross, satisfying divine justice to pay for human sin in full. Through His sacrifice, believers receive genuine, lasting peace with God despite ongoing earthly conflict. ----- To God I’m reconciled, His pardoning voice I hear; He owns me for His child, I can no longer fear.
