Did Jesus Christ come to abolish God’s law—or to fulfill it? Foundational Scritpure: “The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭19‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Jesus said: “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.” — Matthew 5:17 NKJV In today’s teaching, we continue our Kingdom of God and His Righteousness Series by examining the laws that govern the Kingdom of God and what Christ meant when He said He came to fulfill the law. We will examine the relationship between God’s law, obedience, the flesh, and Christ, including the daily struggle of mankind to walk according to what God has commanded. Acts 7:53 gives us a serious warning: people “received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it.” So the question is not simply whether we have heard God’s law.
