Her Headlamp Stayed On For 9 Hours. She Was Already Gone

On October 14, 2017, photographer Maren Ellsworth vanished on Lindy Point Trail in Blackwater Falls State Park. Her headlamp was found still glowing nine hours later beside an unmaintained spur that no longer existed on official maps. This reconstruction uses GPS watch logs, trail camera footage, text messages, and search-and-rescue records to trace her final hours minute by minute. The evidence reveals how outdated markings and a jammed switch created a silent tragedy that unfolded in plain sight. 0:00 Intro 1:01 The Morning Drive 4:35 The Overlook Stop 8:44 The Text at 4:07 12:25 Derek Waits Alone 16:47 The Trail Camera 20:43 The Watch Data 24:40 The Recovery 30:29 The Unmaintained Spur #truecrime #coldcase #unsolvedmysteries #truecrimestories #truecrimecommunity
