Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii) - Plated Beetle Skip Tutorial

A guide video about how to do the Beetle Skip trick, used in speedrunning Metroid Prime for Trilogy and Wii, which enables you to get the Morph Ball without the mini boss fight against the beetles, near the beginning of the game. Look down while jumping if struggling. 2) You have to hold right on the analog stick while jumping, then change to up mid-air before you've reach the apex of your jump to avoid hitting your head on the protruding rocks. This takes awhile to get the timing down -- this is the hardest of the 4 jumps in my opinion. 3) Only the very tip of the branch can be used. Back into the corner, then turn around and look at the pizza-shaped decoration straight across the room. Try to align yourself so you're pointing straight at the top-right corner of the middle "slice" at the top of the pizza. Press jump and forward at the same time. 4) As soon as you can feel that the 3rd jump made it (didn't hit edge of branch and fall, but made it above), immediately move analog stick from up to left and jump left, holding both buttons until you land. This should get you far enough across the room to avoid the mini boss trigger. 1 Clarification: In the video I note that “don’t practice this trick at the end of the game with the Phazon Suit because the jumps are easier” (especially that the single jump up to the branch is easier later in the game). However, it is actually easier at the end of the game because of having acquired the Space Jump (which makes a normal single go slightly higher than without it), not because of the Phazon Suit itself. That said, the advice to practice this trick at the very beginning of the game still stands.
