GAH 07 | 1997 The BEST year for UKG? | London Underground UK GARAGE mix

Slip on the Patrick Cox loafers and don the Moschino shirt as we travel back to what I think was the purest (and probably the best overall) year for the UK Underground Garage sound - 1997. The clubs, pirate stations and ravers of the mid 90s had taken the North American sound of the early 90s and morphed it into what you hear in this mix - a unique blend of uptempo beats and heavier basslines that are unequivocally British born and bred. For me 1997 had the raw energy that we's previously had in 1990/1991 with the Hardcore movement, and again in 1993/1994 with the Jungle sound.
