Ashley is currently an evening anchor for Louisiana First News, appearing on the 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m., 9 p.m., and 10 p.m. newscasts. In her role she also focuses on medical and health stories and special reports for the station. Previously, Ashley reported on overnight news, breaking events and other high-impact stories across Texas and Oklahoma. In Dallas, she championed breaking news for the morning team at CBS News Texas. As lead reporter and fill-in anchor in Oklahoma City, Ashley covered the 2023 Tornado outbreaks and regularly reported for United Voice, a franchise that fostered honest dialogue across the state about race. She also produced some of her most impactful stories focusing on public safety, statewide politics and consumer reporting as part of the "In Your Corner" team. Ashley is a 4-time regional SPJ Award winner and a RTDNA Award Winner. Her work has also been syndicated in The Dallas Morning News, Yahoo News, Free Republic, and more. In 2024, she was a National Press Foundation - N.S. Bienstock Fellow, recognizing promising leaders in broadcast journalism. She currently serves as a 2026 Journalism & Women Symposium (JAWS) Health Journalism Fellow, covering maternal health crises across Louisiana. Before pursuing journalism, Ashley worked in a variety of fields, including consulting, marketing and communication. She pivoted to news at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, reporting on underrepresented communities, local and state politics as a key part of a local news collaboration with The Dallas Morning News and Texas Metro News. Ashley graduated with honors from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. She also holds a master's degree from Syracuse University. She grew up in Herndon, Virginia.
