Variaties en koraal 'Ik wil mij gaan vertroosten' (Impro) - Organist: Jan Noordzij

Ik kreeg het verzoek om te improviseren over gezang 562 (Liedboek 2013). Dit is het geworden: (10) Variaties en koraal "Ik wil mij gaan vertroosten". We beleven een roerige tijd. Hoop, vrees, vrede en oorloog wisselen elkaar af. Als begeleiding bij de muziek heb ik een korte poëtische tekst gemaakt. De inhoud hiervan hoort u terug in de (geïmproviseerde) variaties. Adem zacht. Luister. Het hart zoekt stilte. Elke toon, een stap. Elke stap, een rustpunt. Donkere wolken naderen. Het gerucht van oorlog. Noten trillen. Snel, scherp, onrustig. Het lichaam voelt de storm. En dan: opstaan. Koraal, groot, omvattend. Alles valt samen: angst, hoop, liefde. De stem van de wereld draagt. De ziel ademt. This is the result: (10) Variations and Chorale “I Want to Find Consolation.” We are living in turbulent times. Hope, fear, peace, and war alternate constantly. As a companion to the music, I have written a short poetic text. Its essence can be heard throughout the (improvised) variations. Breathe softly. Listen. The heart seeks stillness. Each tone, a step. Each step, a moment of rest. Dark clouds are gathering. The rumor of war. Notes tremble. Fast, sharp, restless. The body feels the storm. And then: rise. Chorale, vast, all-embracing. Everything converges: fear, hope, love. The voice of the world sustains. The soul breathes.
