Tiffany McManis was honored as an Alumni Fellow for the Harmony J. Hines School of Nursing. She has been director of Washburn University Student Health Services since 2018, overseeing the clinic offering medical services to the Washburn community. She started there in 2012 as an advanced practice registered nurse and became interim director in 2017. McManis has served on several university-wide committees at Washburn including the Covid-19 University Steering Committee, Health and Safety Committee and Student Life Wellness Committee. As a leader at Student Health, she has developed numerous department policies to improve the safe operation of the clinic and the overall health at Washburn. McManis worked for several years as a surgical RN and earned certification as an RN first assistant. She has been on Washburn's Harmony J. Hines School of Nursing adjunct faculty since 2009 and she serves on the Live Well Shawnee County Sexual Health Collaborative. How has Washburn contributed to your life and career: I have had the chance to learn and grow in ways that I don't believe would have been possible without Washburn University. Not only have I received my MSN and my DNP through WU, but I also had the opportunity to be a part of the WU community as a healthcare provider and be a leader on campus. My colleagues and I have found ways to expand healthcare services beyond the main campus, and I look forward to our continued opportunities to collaborate and grow. I am so appreciative of the pathways WU provides for the next generation. My son, Jalen, is currently enrolled here as a freshman. He is taking advantage of the tuition incentives WU has extended to employee dependents and I am so proud of him.
