[FLIGHT TAKEOFF] Lufthansa 747-400 - A Sunny Spring Departure from Frankfurt

FRA-BOS: Finally catching the Lufthansa 747-400! I usually find myself on their 747-8, but the -400 hits different. It brings back huge nostalgia from my very first flight on a Qantas 747-400 back in 1999 (was also lucky to fly on the 747-300!). Frankfurt is always a treat for plane spotting, in and outside of the airplane. Between the heavy Lufthansa hub operations and colorful Condor aircraft, the tarmac was buzzing. We even boarded right beside LH's beautiful new "100th Anniversary" 747-8. I'm impressed with the 747-400 flaps; they are huge and take so long to extend. On our way to the runway, we passed several remote stands. We passed a couple of the A340-600s, which will sadly be retiring at the end of 2026.
