After sharing how due to #Hypermobility and #PoTS, hair washing is an massive energy drain, so I've started using headscarves and beanies to look presentable while managing my energy levels, I got a lot of requests for info on what I use and how I tie them, so here are the answers:
1: Larger headscarf - a simple square of fabric 80-90 cm wide (so the diagonal is around 150 cm). Search for ‘headscarf’. Can also be made at home using a relatively light weight fabric.
2: Beanie. Watch out for beanies that don’t have room for your hair, or aren’t machine washable. To find them search for ‘chemo beanie’.
3: Smaller bandana headscarf in stretchy bamboo cotton, plain and can be styled with a second scarf or Alice band. Search for ‘bamboo bandana’. These are machine washable.
4: pre-tied scarf with integrated Alice band - find them by searching ‘pre tied headscarf’. Note that there are different types - some don’t have the Alice band so make sure you check you are getting what you want. The ones I have are machine washable.
Deresina Headwear https://deresinaheadwear.com/collecti... sells lots of chemo beanies, the bandana scarves, and some other scarves too.
My pre-tied scarves were from Amazon.
