I've been a fan of Resident Evil for quite some time at this point - and Requiem truly solidified how appreciative I am of this franchise. Therefore, I tried my absolute hardest to pour as much love and attention to detail into this project as my brain possible could. NOW. LET ME RAMBLE ABOUT THISSSSSSS When it came to my cover, I didn't want to just try and replicate what the original version is; that being said, replicating said masterpiece is immensly out of my skill range as a producer and mere bean "playing" with FL Studio. Deep down I wanted to create a love letter to the game. Something intentional that to the core was true to what I'm capable of producing and 10000% vibing with. SO after lots of ideas marinated in my brain, slowly but surely this took form after recording way too many voice notes on my phone: a city pop-ish, 80s-ish, to the core jen (lol) version. When the track was slowly but surely wrapping up, I wanted to tackle the visuals in a fashion I was truly convinved would carry the most meaning paired with the intention I've set forth with the track. The only way that could and would happen (after researching Capcom's terms iuhdfngjkh) was through in-game footage. Therefore, I tried my hardest to create scenic shots that on one hand show how truly beautiful this game is whilst also not giving away too much to someone who still wants to experience the game for themself - creating an experience that is enjoyable to everyone in one way or another. Keeping the track and footage in mind, I tried to give both grace and leon dedicated parts that made sense in my head - i.e. keeping footage for grace headed forward whilst leon's is going backwards - having subtitles cut out, before the next set hops in, just like grace and leon initially only ever meet to then part again AND OFC KEEPING THE FONTS IN CHECK. Bless Helvetica Condensed Bold & ITC American Typewriter. BUT ENOUGH RAMBLING. I don't wanna give away too much of my little intentions. I'm incredibly proud of how everything turned out. I love this game to bits (and not just 'cus Leon mf Scott Kennedy has aged like wine) and strongly recommend it, if you are thinking about playing it yourself or watching someone else!
