August 12, 2026 La Marque City Council Budget Workshop: FY 2027 Budget Review & Planning

The La Marque City Council continued its FY 2027 budget workshop discussions on August 26, reviewing financial projections, departmental funding requests, and operational priorities. The workshop provided Council with another opportunity to evaluate budget options, discuss service impacts, and consider strategies that support the City's long-term financial stability and service delivery goals. The City of La Marque is strategically situated in Galveston County, 15 miles south of Houston and four miles north of Galveston Island. La Marque is the second-fastest-growing city in the County with an estimated population of 20,000, an area of 14.25 square miles and boasting 14.3 miles of I-45 frontage—more than any other city in Galveston County.
