Hollyhocks 🌸 Handmade Journal Flip Through | Sanderson Fabric, Repurposed Book & Vintage Ephemera

Come and have a slow, relaxed look through Hollyhocks, a handmade gift journal I created for a very good and supportive friend. 🌸 This little journal is covered with a beautiful piece of Sanderson Hollyhocks fabric, which I found at our local sustainable craft centre. The fabric came from a repurposed sample book, and I also used some of the original illustrations from the sample book to create the end papers — giving these beautiful materials a new life. Inside, I’ve filled the journal with some of my favourite hoarded pages from much-loved books, Daphne’s Diary pages and other pretty pieces of paper that I’ve collected and couldn’t bear to throw away. For this journal, I deliberately decided to leave it largely unembellished. Rather than filling every page for her, I wanted to give my friend plenty of space to make it her own. Alongside the journal, I’ve made her a little ephemera pack filled with fabric pieces, lace and postcards, so she can add things to the journal whenever and however she wishes. I love the idea that the journal will gradually become uniquely hers. 🤍 This video is simply being shared with my lovely followers for inspiration and ideas — showing how you can create something very special using a repurposed book cover, sustainable/reclaimed fabric, old book pages and treasured scraps. 🌸 Hollyhocks is a reminder that beautiful journals don’t have to be complicated or heavily embellished — sometimes the loveliest thing we can give someone is simply a collection of beautiful things and the freedom to make them their own.
