I use omega 3s in my practice every day, but I wanted to share a patient’s surprising results. She ate fish and took an omega-3 supplement yet her omega score came back at just 2.41%. 🐟🧠 In this video I share a patient’s five-year journey through persistent concussion symptoms, changes in supplementation, and a switch to getting omega-3s from food alone. Her results sparked an important question: How do you know whether your omega-3 intake is meeting your needs? We explore: • What an omega score blood test measures and what are the optimal levels • How her results changed with supplementation and diet • Why supplement form and tolerability deserve attention • What EPA, DHA and omega-6 results can tell us • How testing can help inform an individual care plan Her recovery involved rehabilitation and other care alongside supplementation. This is one patient’s experience, but it offers a useful look at how testing can challenge our assumptions. Have you ever had your omega-3 levels tested? Share your experience or questions below.
