Meet Candidate Caroline Avinger, Democrat, SC House District 24

Caroline Avinger is running for South Carolina House District 24, which includes Augusta Road, Gower and Hollingsworth neighborhoods in the City of Greenville and the Miller Road and Knollwood areas of Mauldin. A former public school teacher and small business owner, Avinger says her priorities include education, attainable housing and affordable healthcare. Her campaign website states: “I’m not waiting for change. I’m running to make it happen.” Avinger says she will listen to constituents, strengthen public education, expand housing options for working families and improve access to affordable healthcare. We reached out to Avinger’s opponent, Republican Bruce Bannister, for an interview, but he did not respond to our requests. Bannister is the incumbent representing House District 24.
