Planet: Aegron-9 System: Vallis Cephei Sector: Fathom Reach "Solitude is the salt of the wilderness — it seasons the perception." — Tej Aravind, Explorer’s Codex, Vol. III The transport touched down thirteen hours ago. The sandstorm hasn't relented since. The winds here carry not just dust, but memory — as if the planet itself resists forgetting the presence of those who came before. These cylindrical structures — six of them in total — were not part of our construction plans. We first spotted their corroded tops protruding from the dunes during descent. They’re not recent. Surface erosion and rust suggest abandonment for at least two centuries, maybe more. Signs are painted in a faded dialect none of our linguistics AIs recognize. One of them — the nearest — has power lines trailing into the sand, as if the planet buried its own infrastructure over time. Atmospheric composition remains stable but arid: 94% nitrogen, 5% argon, trace oxygen. Breathable with filters, but not ideal. Gravity is slightly lower than Earth standard — enough to feel a subtle grace in movement. You notice it most when reaching for equipment, or climbing — like the world’s holding you back just gently enough to make you aware of the act. Magnetic readings are erratic around the structures. I suspect there's something buried beneath — possibly reactors or comms relays. The radiation levels aren’t lethal, but I’m limiting exposure. The warning symbols depict humanoid figures mid-collapse. Whatever this facility was, safety wasn’t its strongest feature. No signs of life. Not now, anyway. But signs of someone once trying to stay alive are everywhere — patched panels, handwritten cautions etched into metal, a prayer symbol above a sealed hatch. Did they wait for rescue that never came? Or leave in a hurry? The quiet here doesn't feel empty — it feels witnessed. The terrain beyond is jagged — dunes stretch like frozen ocean waves toward a crescent of black cliffs. Local rock samples show high vanadium content. Crystals are forming in some exposed cores. This planet may have once supported an extraction colony. That would explain the structural style: compact, modular, expendable. I’ll stay another night before heading back to the shuttle. The wind sings across the reinforced hull. It’s almost musical. Comforting, in a strange way. I think I’ll record a few minutes of it before I leave. The sound of a forgotten place, humming quietly to itself. Let no one say silence has no voice. #scifiambient #ambient #ambientmusic #soundscape #backgroundmusic #drone #dystopia #postapocalyptic #postapocalypse #darkambient #emotionalmusic #existentialmusic #noisemusic #meditationmusic #musicforsleep #musicforstudying #musicformeditation #musicforthesoul #musicforstudy #ambientmusicforstudying #ambientmusicforsleep #ambientmusicforwork #musicforprogramming #relaxingambientmusic #dystopianmusic #ambientsound #ambientsoundscapes #distanthorizon #scarymusic #horrormusicsoundeffect #horromusic
