Operation Meghdoot was launched on 13 April 1984. Indian troops moved into the Siachen sector and secured strategically important positions on the Saltoro Ridge, supported by an extraordinary high-altitude air effort by the Indian Air Force. This documentary tells the story of that race — from intelligence and preparations to the dangerous helicopter insertions, securing Bilafond La and Sia La, and the enormous challenge of sustaining troops in one of the harshest environments on Earth. More than four decades later, Operation Meghdoot remains one of the most remarkable high-altitude military operations in modern history.
