I originally did this fight in October of 2025 during my 100% playthrough. This file is the save I made before that fight, and it is the same strategy I used, although the battle went very differently. This is my second time uploading this fight, because I wasn't satisfied with the first one for several reasons: literally nothing went wrong, meaning that Auto-Life and Quina's role weren't shown; I didn't get the Pumice Piece, the one item I want to Steal from Ozma; Zidane never got to attack; I forgot to make room for the Ozma card; and I didn't show the Pumice after the battle. Ozma is known for being unfair and luck-based, which is definitely true at lower levels. At 99, however, you have to get very unlucky not to defeat it. This fight is by far the worst it's ever gone for me, and I still ended up winning. When things go wrong, specifically when Ozma uses Meteor, it can be very difficult to recover, but once you're able to start attacking consistently the fight should be over soon. This strategy puts a lot into maximising Auto-Regen's effectiveness; the Potion part of Auto-Potion is pretty much useless but the animation provides a lot more time for Regen to work. Eiko isn't too relevant for most of the fight, but if you need her then she's the difference between victory and defeat. There isn't a clear choice between Steiner and Freya, I think Freya is probably better if you've maxed out Dragon's Crest (which I have) but either character will do 9999 whenever they can attack. Keeping on top of Berserk is important, but the other statuses that I don't have protection against are pretty irrelevant for everyone but Steiner (which is another point in Freya's favour, since they wouldn't matter for her either). Quina's there mostly for Auto-Life, though Frog Drop would make them a good choice anyway, and then Zidane would be ideal even if he could be taken out of the party. Finally, regarding stealing: I have never agreed with the idea that you should steal every item that you can get from the bosses in this game, and especially in this case there's nothing to steal that you don't already have access to. The only thing I would have wanted was the Pumice Piece, since I used the two you get elsewhere in the game to make a Pumice and learn Ark before this fight. I was planning on a five-Steal limit if I didn't get it, but, just as I did during my original fight with Ozma, I got the Pumice Piece immediately. This strategy is a very slightly modified version of the one found in Shotgunnova's FFIX walkthrough on GameFAQs. It's intended for much lower levels, and I would recommend using those lower levels. Getting to 99 may make this fight consistent, but it takes a very long time; it seems pretty clear to me that the developers never intended for the player to actually get to such a high level. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Final Fantasy Superbosses Playlist:    • Final Fantasy - Defeated Superbosses   The original version of this video, if you want to see this fight with perfect luck:    • Final Fantasy IX - Ozma (First Version)
