Palestine Street is one of Jeddah’s best-known roads, and its name carries a story connected to Saudi Arabia’s support for Palestine. King Faisal bin Abdulaziz ordered the street to be named Palestine Street in the early 1970s, when the American diplomatic mission was located there. So the name would forcibly appear in the mission’s official address and correspondence. The former US Consulate remained on Palestine Street for more than 65 years before moving to a new location in 2019. Today, Palestine Street remains a major part of Jeddah’s urban life, connecting the city’s history with its modern streets and neighborhoods. 🌊 KING FAHD FOUNTAIN See one of Jeddah’s most recognizable landmarks near the Red Sea.
