This video shows how to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on a 5th generation Nissan Sentra (1999-2006). I covered the alternator with saran warp to keep coolant from entering it. The remove the electrical connector push down on the end of the tab on the connector, then pull away from the sensor. The part number is TX78 made by Standard Motor Products. See "Testing the Replacement of the Coolant Temp Sensor - Part 2", where I test the replacement for leaks.
