Newburgh Rd: Full Length Wayne to Livonia | 4K POV Drive

A relaxing drive north on Newburgh Road through Detroit’s western suburbs. We will start today’s drive going west on Michigan Ave in the city of Wayne. We’ll turn right to go north on Newburgh Rd. The first couple of miles, Newburgh has a lot of woods 100 to 1,000 feet deep that separate the road from rows of hidden houses. The more we go north, the woods get thinner and give way a single row of trees and privacy fences in front of many of the neighborhoods. I bet this road looks great in the fall. Being that it’s still “ Michigan summer” there is construction as well. Today, it's the section of road between Warren and Joy. Although we didn’t see any trains today, we cross several train tracks on today’s drive. If you love trains, this is a good place to come see them. Friends that live out here say that some of the trains that go through this area can take 20 minutes or more to pass. (longer if they stop) We will drive through the city of Westland and into Livonia. We cross I-96, 5, 6, & 7 Mile roads before ending our journey through Detroit’s western suburbs at 8 Mile. If we continued north of 8 Mile, Newburgh becomes Halsted Rd and goes up to Upper Straits Lake in Bloomfield Township. Maybe we’ll do that drive another day.
