It is officially the end of an era. As you may know, Quasar is comprised of 4 members who were all in the class of 2023 at UNT, which means we all have become graduates now! We were lucky enough to be invited to perform at our commencement ceremony, which took place on May 12th a few days ago. When deliberating what to play for the ceremony, we wanted to pick something that would be symbolic and effective for the setting. Eventually we came to the conclusion that City of Arts and Sciences would be the perfect fit, both in the context of what the piece is about, as well as in the context of out quartet. Our first recital together back in 2021 was entitled "Quasar and Friends" (it still is up on YouTube!). For this recital, we played City of Arts and Sciences as an opening to the entire concert. To tie off our journey as music majors at UNT, we closed our final quartet recital (Also on my channel!) with this piece, and later on, closed our entire degrees with this piece. We are extremely grateful for all of the opportunities we were granted at UNT, especially the opportunity to play at our own commencement ceremony! We hope you enjoy our final performance we gave at UNT, and we hope you will continue to watch our quartet as we continue on our musical journeys! Our plans for next year are as follows:
Connor Altagen will begin his Master's degree as the TA for the Florida State University Trombone Studio, studying with Dr. Hana Beloglavec.

Connor Fallon will be taking the academic year to teach privately, as well as to help with marching band programs in the area while he prepares for his eventual auditions for Masters programs for 2024.

Tim George will begin his Master's degree at Northwestern University in Chicago, studying with Michael Mulcahy, who plays with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
@trombone_tim / trombone_tim
Lucy Husby (that's me!) will begin her Master's degree at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, studying with Barry Hearn, who plays with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
Though we will be going our separate ways for now, this is not the end of the Quasar Quartet, so make sure to stay tuned!
