Chitwan Jungle Safari.

Chitwan is situated in the Rapti Valley in the subtropical land of Terai (Plains). The rugged Churia hills, sal forests, grasslands, riverine forests, swamps, and lakes provide excellent habitats for an unusually rich variety of large mammals. It is one of the few remaining habitats of the Royal Bengal tiger and the great one-horned rhinoceros. The package offers a wilderness of rich ecosystems that includes mammals, birds, reptiles, and water animals of several kinds. A small herd of wild elephants is occasionally seen. About 309 species of birds, including the Gangetic dolphin, waterfowl—both migratory and residential; and two species of crocodile, are found in the park. There are scientific research projects funded by WWF (World Wildlife Fund) and international organizations to understand ecology and behaviour and preserve species like rhinos, tigers, and deer. There is a breeding centre for the nearly extinct gharial crocodile. Another most important factor adding to the Chitwan experience is the colourful Tharu culture, their way of living, culture and tradition, and heart-touching Tharu dance.
