Mazen Mokhtar, CEO of Baitulmaal, is our next guest on the DOC podcast hosted by Dr. Omar Chughtai. Baitulmaal is an international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing life-saving, life-sustaining, and life-enriching assistance to vulnerable communities. Its work spans different regions, including Palestine, Africa, Asia, and the United States, with initiatives focused on emergency relief, food assistance, healthcare, education, clean water, orphan support, and long-term community development. In this conversation, Mazen takes us inside the organization’s humanitarian work from projects in Palestine and the Building Hope School to hospitals, special-needs support in Africa, and the bakery project serving communities in Palestine. Beyond humanitarian aid, the conversation explores the principles behind effective leadership: trust, credibility, crisis management, Muslim identity and contribution, failure, imposter syndrome, success, purpose, and legacy. Mazen also reflects on lessons from his father, why leaders must remain teachers, and what it means to build institutions that continue serving people beyond the individuals who lead them. A meaningful conversation about service, leadership, faith, humanitarian responsibility, and creating lasting impact.
