After sugarcane is crushed to extract its juice, huge amounts of fibrous material known as sugarcane bagasse remain.
Instead of treating this valuable agricultural by-product as low-value waste, this process follows one exact batch as it begins a completely new life.
Watch the transformation step by step:
Sugarcane → Juice Extraction → Sugarcane Bagasse → Clean Fiber → Natural Pulp → Paper Stock → Wet Paper Web → Warm-Ivory Writing Paper → Notebooks → Knowledge
Inside a modern paper factory, the bagasse is cleaned and prepared before being transformed into cellulose-rich pulp. The pulp is screened, washed and refined, then formed into a continuous wet paper web.
The paper is pressed, dried and finished before being wound into a massive jumbo roll. It is then cut into writing sheets and transformed into simple natural notebooks with warm-ivory pages.
The journey ends in a community learning space, where students write on paper created from the same sugarcane by-product that began its journey in the field.
A complete transformation from sugarcane bagasse into useful natural writing paper — showing how agricultural by-products can become valuable materials for everyday life.
