Aerodynamics of a Rocket, is a mini-tutorial that explains how Stallion 3D 5 is used to analyze small launch vehicles or model rockets. Stallion 3D employs computational fluid dynamics, CFD, for the aerodynamic analysis. It needs only an STL file for the input so it works well with your 3D printed rockets. Once the STL is imported, the user only has to add the flight conditions. Stallion 3D defaults are set to handle the rest. The software computes lift, drag and moments. Running sweeps and quasi-steady rotations can be used to determine stability and spin rate (if any) at launch time.
