After arriving on the island, we explore the coast, small towns, hiking trails, and some of Newfoundland’s most beautiful landscapes. We visit Cape St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve, Cape Spear and St. John’s, watch the sunset over the Battery, and explore Elliston, Dungeon Provincial Park, Spillars Cove, The Chimney, and Cape Bonavista. From Bonavista, we continue west toward Gros Morne National Park. We hike Steve’s Trail, spend the morning at Shallow Bay Beach, walk the Western Brook Pond trail, camp at Lomond Campground, and explore the Tablelands before making our way to Channel-Port aux Basques and the ferry back to Nova Scotia. Day 2 - St. John’s Cape St. Mary’s, Cape Spear, Signal Hill, downtown St. John’s, and the Battery. Day 3 - St. John’s to Bonavista Elliston and its puffins, Dungeon Provincial Park, Spillars Cove, The Chimney, Cape Bonavista, and our first night of camping. Day 4 — Bonavista and the Road West A relaxed morning in Bonavista before continuing west across Newfoundland. Day 5 - Gros Morne Our first day exploring Gros Morne National Park and hiking Steve’s Trail. Day 6 - Shallow Bay & Western Brook Pond An early morning at Shallow Bay Beach, followed by the Western Brook Pond trail. Day 7 - A Perfect Camp Spot Camping at Lomond Campground and enjoying a quiet evening in the park. Day 8 - The Tablelands Hiking the Tablelands Trail and continuing our journey toward the west coast.
