Wēngār - Pilzreigen (album, 2026) psychedelic dungeon synth

In the deep forests of the Wehrgarten, the light of the full moon falls upon the Dancing Glade, the Mycelium Wanderers gather for their Festival of Symbiosis. For my final feature of DS Sunday this week, I give you the latest creation of dark and psychedelic soundscaping from German artist Wēngār – a name regular followers will recognise as one of my most favourite and highly recommended artists around. Immerse yourself in this lush fantasy world of analogue synthesiser ambience, in which hazily soft forestial glimmer and delicately melodic spellweaving create a weird and mystical experience. Almost serene and meditative, were it not for the undercurrents of eeriness the album is laced with, Pilzreigen conveys an air of disarming otherworldliness. A ritual of communal potency for those within the circle, and sinister enchantment or those outside.
