Filmed across historical sites and featuring insights from leading scholars, The Lion of Kufa tells the untold story of Muslim ibn Aqil (Aqeel), the unsung hero of Karbala. It follows him from his upbringing among Banu Hashim to the letters that called Imam Husayn to Kufa, the arrival of Ubaydullah ibn Ziyad and his campaign of fear, the arrest of Hani ibn Urwa, and the woman who sheltered Muslim when he had nowhere left to go. It culminates in his last stand in the streets of Kufa, his martyrdom, and the moment the news reached Imam Husayn on the road to Kufa.
